Ubuntu

I decided to download Ubuntu 9.04 beta because it has a good setup for a mailserver, according to the specs on the site.http://www.ubuntu.com/testing/jaunty/beta#New%20features%20since%20Ubuntu%208.10

I can not tell the specs of the machine, because the bios is very old. It will not give me the processor or anything.

GUI

Since Ubuntu Server Edition does not have a GUI, I am installing gnome (default with normal Ubuntu) because I think it will make managing this a lot easier. I hope it works!

Install failed-bad HDD

The computer would not boot up on the 6.5 gig HDD, so I used a different one.

I changed my project to making an email server with ubuntu. I am installing Ubuntu Server edition on a computer, and I have some basic instructions on how to make an email server.

Alright. I'm about ready to give up. The computer would not boot. I think I'll keep looking for instructions, but I don't know.

Uh Oh...

I haven't been blogging much... but that is because I have not gotten ANYWHERE since finding the guide and downloading parts. I can not get the computer to work. Hopefully it will VERY SOON, because this is starting to seem like it is impossible.
