GUI

Since Ubuntu Server Edition does not have a GUI, I am installing gnome (default with normal Ubuntu) because I think it will make managing this a lot easier. I hope it works!

  2. Well that's a possible plan. It will give you an interface, if that's what you are looking for.

    Q. which site are you using for instructions
    Q. what versions of Ubuntu that you tried - tell what went wrong that you are switching
    Q. what are the machine specs - the BIOS should tell you some info - or get it after the OS is installed
    Q. what is your goal - what will an email server do? what are the different types of email servers - what is the network requirements to have an email server..
    Q. what forum are you using to get questions answered

    and other specifics.
